How much does the software cost?
The software is licensed by the number of concurrent users (those accessing the database at one time.) The check-in/out process using a portable barcode device is not considered a user. A one-user system starts as low as $1895, with the ability to add users at any time for a minimal fee. A five-user system starts at $3895.

Is it complicated to use?
The CheckMate software is designed to be easy to use for all levels of computer expertise. The check-in/out process is designed to minimize steps and increase productivity.
How long does it take to install & train?
We estimate the actual installation and training time to be between 1 and 2 hours.
Do I have to use barcode scanners or can I key enter the info?
You do not have to use barcode as the data entry method. However, barcode is virtually 100% accurate and 80% faster than key entry.
Will the barcode labels stick to my equipment & tools?
The labels sold with CheckMate are designed to adhere with an adhesive tested at high and low temperatures and able to withstand chemicals used for cleaning. There are metalized tags available that rivet to equipment and 2-dimensional “dots” for small items.
Can I track my equipment & tools by location?
Yes, CheckMate can track tools by specific location (room/shelf or jobsite/person). It can also be set up to segment the tool database by division.
Can I manage consumable items with CheckMate?
Yes, CheckMate’s Class C items are treated as consumables. Your consumable items can be set up with minimum/maximum quantities and reports are available to assist with purchasing decisions.
Can I set up kits of tools for faster check-out?
Yes, CheckMate’s kitting function allows you to set up sets of tools, equipment and consumables for a single scan check-out. This is a standard feature.
Can I track maintenance history and requirements for my equipment?
Yes, CheckMate has 6 fields for maintenance dates plus an area for notes and many status fields.
Will the software calculate the length time a piece of equipment has been at a job site?
Yes, CheckMate date and time stamps all transactions and will provide a report that calculates the length of time an item as been checked out to at a location.
How do I get support and updates?
The support contract offered with CheckMate provides free bug fixes and software updates. Installation, training and network issues are not included but assistance is available at an hourly fee, calculated in 15-minute increments.
